The season is now very much underway - the bees are buzzing, bringing in much needed pollen & nectar, and we are able to re-launch our Bee Experience Days! This was the highlight of last Summer for us, and we cannot wait to introduce more people to the fascinating world of bees & beekeeping.
We have select dates available throughout April - June, bookable using the link below.
Please note, we now have two sites where we can host our Experience Days: Bee Tree Vineyard in Wivelsfield Green, and Everflyht Vineyard in Ditchling. The package for each is slightly different, and there is a price difference between the two. More details about each one below.
Bee Tree Vineyard - Wivelsfield
We are lucky enough to have four hives located on the beautiful Bee Tree Vineyard in Wivelsfield Green, and this is where our tours take place!
Starting at 10:00, you are first given a talk by one of our experienced beekeepers about bees, their life cycle, nectar foraging & honey production, before moving onto a health & safety briefing, covering beekeeping equipment, tools, & general safe practices around the hives.
From there, it is time to put on your beekeeping suit & gloves, before heading out to the hives. You will conduct a full hive inspection with our beekeeper, assessing the health of the hive, laying patterns, honey stores, and (hopefully) find the queen in the process. You will have an opportunity to have your photo taken with a full frame of bees, before we close up and leave them be.
To conclude, there will be a glass of Bee Tree sparkling wine for each participant to celebrate your journey into the world of bees.
Everflyht Vineyard - Ditchling
We will be moving onto Everflyht Vineyard late April / Early May, and this signifies a big step forward for us, as we look to increase both the number of locations / apiaries that we have, and the number of hives that we are able to manage.
The Everflyht Experience Day follows the same format as the Bee Tree Vineyard tour, but with the addition of a cheese board to accompany the glass of Everflyht sparkling wine.
